"Pretear" aka "The New Legend of Snow White" is probably the anime version of "Snow White". It revolves around a young teenage girl name Himeno, whose mother passed away and lives with her father and his new wife, and his wife's two daughters (hint: her step-sisters). Feeling neglected at home she stumbles upon these "Leafe Knights" who claim that she is the new "Pretear", the chosen one who can save the world from "Princess of Disaster" (the previous "Pretear", who turned evil). Himeno, can transform into a different "Pretear" with different powers every time she unites with a different "Leafe Knight", learning about all this she had a hard time accepting this as reality especially when one of the Leafe Knight, Hayate treats her with coldness, refusing to accept her as the new "Pretear", but at the same time not able to neglect his duties to protect her. As time goes by they grown to respect each other and perhaps... love each other? If you like romantic anime like me, you'll like this one. The story also teaches a very valuable lesson.. from importance of family as well as the importance of life. Once I knew this anime was coming out on DVD, I got it the minute it came out.
